Major setback for Chandrashekhar Ravan,Bhim Army's Delhi protest cancelled | Capital TV
Bhim Army chief Chandrashekhar Azad has faced a major political roadblock as the Delhi Police allegedly denied permission for his upcoming protest in the national capital. The demonstration, scheduled for September 24 at Jantar Mantar, was organized to demand the implementation of reservation policies and raise various social issues. Azad, a prominent Dalit leader, intended to gather supporters from across the country to pressure the administration. However, with the authorities refusing to grant the necessary clearance, the planned agitation has been effectively stalled. Organizers are currently reviewing the situation to decide their next course of action regarding the demonstration. The denial comes as a significant setback for the Bhim Army, which has been actively mobilizing masses on reservation and rights-based platforms in recent weeks.
Chandrashekhar Azad’s proposed September 24 reservation-supporting protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar has hit a major roadblock after he claimed that Delhi Police denied permission for the event. Azad Samaj Party had announced the protest over reservation-related issues, particularly reservation in promotions for SC, ST and OBC communities. After the reported denial, Azad called for district-level demonstrations across the country and said the movement would continue. September 24 also carries historical significance as the anniversary of the 1932 Poona Pact.
