The demonstration aimed to demand the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged discrepancies in the SIR electoral roll. Delhi Police denied permission for the rally, deploying approximately 35,000 security personnel, setting up heavy barricades, increasing border checks, and shutting down several metro stations and train services. Amid these strict measures, popular YouTuber Dhruv Rathee was detained from Gurugram, and security forces held between 150 and 200 other demonstrators. CJP leader Abhijeet Dipke managed to reach Delhi under tight surveillance as authorities worked to maintain law and order and prevent large gatherings across the city.
